HP buys Palm

HP has just announced that it's acquiring Palm to the tune of $1.2 billion, which works out to $5.70 per share of Palm common stock. The deal is planned to close by July 31, which marks the end of HP's third fiscal quarter of the year. Current Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein is "expected to remain with the company," though it's not said in what capacity. Press release after the break. There'll be a call to discuss the acquisition in more detail (well, we hope in more detail) at 5PM ET, so we'll keep you abreast as we learn more.

HP Envy Beats Edition

If you have ever heard of Beats by Dr. Dre and you have tried them out then you know they are first off expensive going at about $300 for the over the head and a cheaper in ear sells for about $150 I think. So you know if they are a part of a special edition HP Envy Beats Laptop that has a Core i7 which is already saying enough to get me really interested in this laptop. But the price $2,200 is a little to steep for me but that new Intel Core i7 is supposed to be one hell of a CPU so maybe when the price goes down a little then it may be something to consider but right now personally I think its a little to much to spend on a laptop. But if you got the money and you want a very nice looking laptop then this is it because there is no denying that this isn’t one slick looking piece of work from HP.
